The Ghent Film Festival opens its 45th edition in October with the screening of the Flemish-Dutch film Girl. The organization announced this on Tuesday. The Belgian film was awarded the Camera d'Or, the prize for the best debut film of the year at the Cannes festival, on Saturday evening during the Cannes film festival. In addition to the Palm d'Or, the prize for the best competition film, the Camera d'Or is one of the most important prizes at the festival.
