The Caméra d'Or, first awarded in 1978, goes to a feature film debut that is shown in one of the programs during the Cannes Film Festival. This year there were 18 debut films in the running. Lukas Dhont is the first Flemish filmmaker to take home the coveted award. 'Girl' tells the true story of a teenager who was born as a boy and wants to become a ballerina.
