From April 23 to May 2, 2010, Open Doek will present its film festival in Utopolis Turnhout for the eighteenth time. Film lovers can enjoy films from all over the world, but the Philippines is given special attention.
This year, Open Doek focuses on the Philippines. During the festival week in Utopolis in Turnhout they will show some original film gems from their rich cinema past. In recent years, the Philippines has been back on the world cinema map. Much is due to the international recognition of directors such as Lav Diaz and Brillante Mendoza.
