The Other Side of Everything has been declared the best feature-length documentary by the IDFA jury. Mila Turajlic's film is a political chronicle of a family in Serbia. The special jury prize in the same category was awarded to The Deminer by Hogir Hirori and Shinwar Kama, a portrait of the Iraqi Colonel Fakhir who single-handedly defused thousands of landmines. The Long Season by Leonard Retel Helmrich has been voted the best Dutch documentary. He spent a year filming life in a Syrian refugee camp. Alicia, a film by Maasja Ooms about a young girl growing up in a children's home, receives the jury prize in this category.
