Heleen van Royen received her own star on Tuesday on the boulevard of the Belgian town of Ostend. Distributor Paradiso Films reported this. The writer and director was present at the seaside resort's film festival for the screening of her documentary Het Doet Zo Zeer. In her debut film, Van Royen paints a moving picture of her mother, who suffers from vascular dementia. The writer filmed her mother for a year for the documentary. By awarding stars to actors or actresses, the Ostend Festival wants to pay tribute to great film icons from the Low Countries.
