Gijs Naber received his own tulip at the Toronto Film Festival. The actor introduced the flower for the world premiere of his new film Tulipani. In director Mike van Diem's tragicomedy, he plays a Dutch tulip farmer who emigrates to Italy after the Flood. The new tulip variety, named 'tulipani', was presented prior to the film's red carpet premiere at the Toronto festival. There are almost five thousand specimens of the new tulip variety along the red carpet.
