The Dutch film Brimstone has been selected for the Ostend Festival competition. The organization recently announced that the western by director Martin Koolhoven and producer Els Vandevorst has a chance to win the prize for best co-production with the Netherlands. The other two nominees are Layla M and Monk. It is Koolhoven's first film in eight years. The western attracted almost 200,000 visitors in the Netherlands and has now been sold to 79 countries. The prestigious Ostend festival takes place this year from September 8 to 16.
