Kevin Meul's feature debut My First Highway may open the Belgian Film Festival in Utrecht, Netherlands. The film is also playing in competition at the Zlín International Children and Youth Film Festival in the Czech Republic. The film had its world premiere at the end of last year during the Film Fest Ghent, followed by a screening during Alice in the City, the children's and youth festival of the Rome Film Festival. My First Highway won the Jury Prize for Best Film in Tallinn. Meul's coming-of-age drama was also selected for festivals in Germany, the United States, Spain and Sweden.
