Opposites rapper Willem de Bruin plays the leading role in the new Dutch film Catacombe. Liliana de Vries, Belgian actor Kevin Janssen and former professional footballer Glenn Helder can also be seen in the film. Catacombe is about professional football player Jermaine Slagter (De Bruin) who spends the last days of his career at a Dutch club. However, Slagter is in complete financial ruin. When his gambling debt is claimed by a match-fixing syndicate, he must do everything he can to keep his life afloat. It is directed by Victor Ponten. He previously made the award-winning film Rabat with Jim Taihuttu. Catacombe is scheduled to hit theaters in June 2018. The shooting will start in May.
