If it goes ahead, the Telegraaf Media Group (TMG) will not simply be owned by the Flemish Mediahuis. An important second party is VP Exploitatie, which already has a 41.3 percent interest in TMG. Behind VP Exploitatie is the Van Puijenbroek family, which has been a major shareholder in TMG for decades. The entire operation seems to be aimed at saying goodbye to shareholders Frank Botman (Dasym) and John de Mol and at the same time moving on from the current strategy in which TMG is being stripped down and all hope is placed on the digital strategy.
