The cutbacks at RTV Noord lead to forced layoffs and cuts in the program offering. However, the pursuit of journalistic strength and the ambition to grow on digital channels at the regional broadcaster remain intact. This week, RTV Noord announced its reorganization plan and informed its staff about their strategy. The regional broadcaster for Groningen will receive more than one million euros less in 2017 (-11% of the current budget). As a result, six jobs (3.68 FTE) will be lost in support services and there will be less money for journalistic activities.
