Martha Canga Antonio who made her acting debut as Mavela in the feature film Black is one of the 10 most promising young European actors and actresses who will be presented as the European Shooting Stars of 2016 during the Berlin International Film Festival. The initiative is a springboard for young acting talent from Europe and has previously launched the careers of actors such as Daniel Craig, Carey Muligan, Alicia Vikander, Daniël Brühl and Matthias Schoenaerts. In its report, the international jury speaks of the young actress's "perfect timing, courage, determination and innate acting talent".
