Director Kees Vlaanderen was the first filmmaker to receive permission to film in the Rotterdam detention center for months. His documentary The last resort - Aliens in detention, shown on Tuesday evening on NPO2, gives a revealing picture of daily life in the detention center and breaks many clichés that exist about the Dutch deportation policy.
