The Kinepolis Group has largely completed the acquisition of the Utopolis group that was announced in July. The Belgian cinema company takes over nine cinemas in three countries: three in Luxembourg, one in France and five in the Netherlands. The takeover of four Belgian cinemas is still subject to approval by the Belgian Competition Authority. The five Dutch cinemas are in Oss, Almere, Zoetermeer, Den Helder and Emmen. Utopolia SA, the parent company of Utopolis, mainly operates multiplexes. In 2014, the company received approximately 2.3 million visitors in Luxembourg, the Netherlands and France, generating a turnover of €28.3 million.
