The Wildcard ceremony took place on Saturday evening, where a Wildcard was awarded to three films, guaranteeing programming during SCENECS 2016. The winners of the Wildcards were in the documentary category; "A Lizard Under The Skin" by Belgian director Maud Neve. The winning films in the fiction category were: "Best Friends" by Dutch director Ruwan Heggelman and the best film chosen by the public: "Dance Iranian Style" by Iranian director Farshad Aria.
