Brussels resident Stan Brenders (1904-1969) played an important role in the heyday of swing and big bands. He made the first Belgian jazz recording in London with Charles Remue and His New Stompers and founded the INR's first jazz orchestra. He was also the owner of jazz club L'Archiduc for many years. David Deroy, director of 'Monsieur Etrimo', made a revealing documentary about this musician who enjoyed enormous popularity, but was unfairly maligned after WWII.
