Dutch Filmworks will handle the distribution of films previously released by A-Film. "We are pleased that we have been able to conclude this agreement and that our titles will continue to be distributed. It would be an extreme shame if this large number of A-film titles were no longer shown in cinemas, DVD and TV," said Sim van Veen, who worked for A-Film. A-Film, one of the larger independent film distributors in the Benelux, was declared bankrupt in September. Millions in debt, several flops and less income from releasing films on DVD led, among other things, to A-Film being no longer able to meet its payment obligations.
