Leeuwarden is dedicated to film for five days in November. The Northern Film Festival takes place from November 11 to 15 at Slieker Film and Stadsschouwburg de Harmonie. About 150 feature films, short films, documentaries and specials are shown at the Northern Film Festival. This year the program has two pillars: 'Nordic Focus' and 'Cinema of the Low Countries'. The 'Nordic Focus' is there to highlight the pearls from greater Scandinavia and the Baltic States. Belgian and Dutch films are featured in 'Cinema of the Low Countries'.
