After more than 25 years at Sound and Vision, media historian Bert Hogenkamp is retiring. From Image and Sound, Hogenkamp was a special professor at Utrecht University for ten years and has held the Image and Sound chair at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam since 2008. As a media history specialist at Sound and Vision and researcher, he contributed to countless publications and for several years maintained a blog called 'AV Mania' in which he wrote about interesting audiovisual productions, history or developments. Bert had many connections in both the academic field and with the filmmakers themselves.
