An Iranian director has been sentenced to six years in prison and 222 lashes for coming up with the idea of making a film that could be considered critical of the regime. So the film will not be made. In 2013, Kejwan Karimi wanted to make a documentary film about political activism before and after the 1979 revolution. He also wanted to portray the protests that were organized in 2009 after the presidential elections following accusations of ballot fraud.
