VARA has purchased the documentary 'The Man Who Mends Woman' by Belgian director Thierry Michel. The film portrays the impressive work and life of Mukwege. He was recently nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize and received the prestigious Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought for his efforts in the fight against sexual violence. In sixteen years he helped more than forty thousand women. VARA will broadcast the documentary on NPO 2, around the 'Movies That Matter Festival' that will be held at the end of March 2016.
