According to filmmaker and entrepreneur Jos Stelling, city cinema De Kade is being favored by the municipality of Utrecht at the expense of his own plans for the City cinema. VVD municipal councilor André van Schie wants to debate this with Stelling. Van Schie first denies that the municipality of Utrecht would favor or subsidize De Kade. 'De Kade is entirely at the expense and risk of initiator Pim Hermeling. The municipality is only trying to facilitate the initiative as we do with all entrepreneurs, whether it is De Kade or a cheese farmer who wants to start a new business.'
