The film attracted 250,000 visitors in the cinema and was therefore not the favorite for the audience award. It was more in line with expectations that Michiel de Ruyter (700,000 visitors) or Gooische Vrouwen II (2 million visitors) would win the prize. The director acknowledges that an audience award for mega hit Gooische Vrouwen II would have been more in line with expectations. “But I think people who like Gooische Vrouwen are not that interested in the film festival. And then don't vote, it's that simple.”
