At the beginning of October, the film 'Art...don't start' about Herman Brood will premiere in Zwolle. According to the filmmakers, it is the first film about Herman Brood that focuses mainly on his life as a visual artist. Filmmaker Gwen Jansen put the film together based on never-before-seen private shooting. About fifty hours of film material was stored in a safe until last year. The images were taken by Herman's art friend Ivo de Lange, who followed him with the camera. From 1992 to 2000, Herman Brood went to the De Lange studio in Zwolle for a few days every month to escape life in Amsterdam. He did a lot of work there.
