Actor Gijs Naber (35) will play the leading role in the new international feature film by Marleen Gorris, the director who won an Oscar in 1996 with 'Antonia'. Naber, who himself was awarded the Golden Calf for best actor last year, takes on the role of Dutch farmer Gauke for the romantic tragicomedy 'Tulips – Love, honor and a bike'. On the night of the flood disaster, he cycled to southern Italy, where he started a bulb company. Soon the local mafia starts to interfere with him. His daughter Anna, who grew up in Canada, discovered many years later the disastrous consequences this had. And then decides to avenge her father.
