Film journalist Kees Driessen wrote an essay for the Filmkrant on the occasion of the Directors' Forum at the Dutch Film Festival, which he also processed into a video essay with Menno Kooistra. "It just doesn't really want to get off the ground, the Dutch film. With some exceptions, that remains the predominant feeling. Flying and floating are unusual. Taking to the air, whether high among the clouds or low over the ground, makes the Dutch cinema rarely. A bold statement, based on experience, intuition, browsing and asking around."
