Van Hoytema doesn't know what to think of the honor shown to him at the NFF. “I'm not someone who likes to be the center of attention at all: I much prefer being in the shadows behind the camera.” He is most looking forward to a meeting that the NSC union has organized for novice cameramen and students from the Film Academy. “I am really looking forward to talking about the profession itself and exchanging experiences with colleagues. The fame and success is nice, but secondary. That's not what it's about for me.”
