Freek Henkes Jr. (Willem de Kooning Academy) talks about his documentary Higher than the peaks and deeper than the roots about his father, the rebellious, The Hague artist Freek Henkes Sr., who has been suffering from Tourette's syndrome for twelve years: "I I tend towards the dark, whether I do horror or documentary. My films are black and heavy. This is not a sweet documentary. It is not vulgar, but you have to be able to handle it."
