Film by the Sea attracted significantly fewer visitors this year than in previous years. Festival director Leo Hannewik expected more than 41,000 visitors on Sunday afternoon. That is about 5,000 fewer than last year. The main cause is the sharp decline in enthusiasm for the education program. While students from all over the province used to visit the festival, now only schools from Vlissingen come, because bus transport is no longer paid.
