Last night, the makers received confirmation that Black is among the five nominees for the new Dropbox Discovery Award, which is chosen by a three-person jury of film professionals from the 30 films presented in Toronto's Discovery program. Black is also the only remaining European film in the group. According to Kerri Craddock, Director of Programming of the Toronto International Film Festival, the film is characterized by its inciting pace, an exciting energy and a raw realism that are immediately reminiscent of now classic films such as City Of God and Goodfellas. The award carries a cash prize of $5,000.
