This year's 'Film by the Sea' festival in Vlissingen will be stripped of all the bells and whistles. There are no large pavilions, fewer after-parties with music and culinary delights. Reason: the Tour de France has cost the festival many sponsors, the organization says. Due to declining subsidies, the organization had to raise 750,000. This amount must be raised through sponsorship and ticket sales to balance the annual budget for the festival of 1,000,000 euros.
