The better films in Maaseik are having a double celebration this season at the Achterolmen Cultural Center in Maaseik. Films have been shown in Achterolmen for 25 years and this has been done in collaboration with the Limburg film platform Zebracinema for 20 years. Zebracinema, the Limburg film platform, also celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. On September 2, the 25th film season of the Achterolmen Cultural Center started with the film “Selma” in which Martin Luther King campaigned for the right to vote for the black population in the United States in 1965.
