The Limburg miners' drama Gluckauf received 10 nominations for a Golden Calf. In addition, De Surprise by Oscar winner Mike van Diem, originally from Sittard, has also managed to obtain seven nominations. The fact that so many Limburg productions have been nominated has a precedent. Last year, seven nominations were received: for Aanmodderfakker by Michiel ten Horn, for Hemel op Aarde by Pieter Kuijpers, for DasWad by Rob Lücker and War Secrets by producer Reinier Selen.
