The Cartoon d'Or is an award for the Best Short Animated Film in Europe. The prestigious award is presented annually and has had famous winners in the past such as Nick Park, Sylvain Chomet and Michael Dudok de Wit. Six animated short films are in the running for the Cartoon d'Or this year, including A Single Life, a short film from Dutch origin, directed and produced by Job, Joris & Marieke, which was also nominated for an Oscar earlier this year.
