Under the heading Primetime, series from the US, Iceland, France and Argentina will be shown. The TIFF is not the first film festival that also pays attention to TV series. According to critics, this choice endorses the trend that "TV is the new cinema" with filmmakers increasingly spreading stories over several episodes instead of cramming them into one feature film.
