Flemish film producer Dirk Impens has taken an option on the film rights to Wij, the novel by Jeroen Olyslaegers, reports Standaard Uitgeverij. In Wij, Jeroen Olyslaegers tells the story of a group of Flemish nationalists who go on holiday to Spain together in 1976. The well-received novel marked the literary 'comeback' of Olyslaegers, who had not published for a long time. Tim Mielants, who would act as director, and Christophe Dirickx, the co-screenwriter of the film The Alas, are currently working on a screenplay.
