During the Dutch Film Festival in Utrecht, student films are shown in various film blocks called 'Nieuwe Lichting' in the Louis Hartlooper Complex. The NFF Student Competition is an excellent opportunity for film students to present their graduation film to the general public. The films are eligible for three jury awards: the Dioraphte Award for a notable performance, the FPN Award for best producer and the Tuschinski Award for best graduation film. The award for best producer is determined by Film Producers Netherlands (FPN) and the Tuschinski Award and the Dioraphte Award are determined by a jury. All prizes consist of a cash prize of 5,000 euros.
