Paul Ruven has produced a documentary about the Dutch-Moroccan professional footballer Mbark Boussoufa. The producer met the footballer by chance at Los Angeles airport. The film follows Boussoufa during one of the most difficult periods of his life. Carin Goeijers directed the film. She previously won a Golden Calf for her documentary De Nieuwerwetse Wereld. Ruven recently worked on documentaries about actresses Marja Kok and Shireen Strooker and pianist Wibi Soerjadi. BNN-Vara will broadcast the new film on NPO3 on Thursday, September 10.
