Tom Eysink Smeets graduated with Tom & Yuri Extravaganza, a sketch show in which he himself appears alongside childhood friend Yuri. Filming started in his youth when he made Jackass-like films. Later these will become short sketches; even then with Yuri in it. If he is not accepted for the Kleinkunstacademie, his father will require him to register for at least three studies. He chooses the HKU. During a filmmaking course in Berlin, he hears that he has been accepted and thinks: 'This is brilliant, this is what I only want to do'.
