David-Jan Bronsgeest graduated from the Film Academy with his film BROKER. He started his career as an actor in, among others, the regional soap Koning van de Maas (RTV Rijnmond). In the first year of the Maastricht drama school, he made films there for regional television. When he discovers his talent for directing, he almost immediately loses his acting ambitions. In a gap year he made the documentary HER CINEMA LOVE about a hospitable woman who runs a film theater in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He applies for admission to the Film Academy with an Arabic spoken film and is accepted.
