Four years ago, director Jacco Groen saw the popularity of YouTube in America. He was convinced that this would spread to the Netherlands. The result is ShineWorld; produced by Springfilm in co-production with BNN. The documentary delves into the wonderful world of YouTube stars. 'It's a way of life. We wake up with it and go to bed with it.' The documentary follows the main characters for two years. The documentary was made with the support of the CoBO. Jacco Groen previously made Lilet Never Happened and won 12 festival prizes.
