The expected economic spin-off from the feature film about the life of Michiel de Ruyter does not seem to be that big for Zeeland. Despite the fact that the film has been viewed by more than 600,000 Dutch people, a tour of various initiatives shows that no additional tourists have come to Zeeland to visit the film locations. A handful of initiatives were launched in the province to put film locations in the spotlight. A few bed & breakfasts in Zierikzee and Veere offered Michiel de Ruyter packages, but this is no longer advertised.
