In the February edition of the Dutch monthly magazine De Filmkrant, The Misfortune of Things features in the top 10 of 2009, compiled by a selection of Dutch film journalists. The Filmkrant editors also chose Rosetta as the best film of the decade and Minoes by Vincent Bal as Best Dutch film for same period.
