At the beginning of July, IJmuiden will once again be the setting for a Dutch film. A film crew does all the shooting for the short film Gotta in four days. Director Sarah Veltmeyer herself grew up in IJmuiden: "When I was seventeen I didn't know how quickly I had to leave here, but when I came here last year after the death of my grandfather, I only realized how beautiful IJmuiden is. I knew immediately, this is where I was going to shoot my first film. As if I first had to distance myself from IJmuiden to see the beauty again. Seeing the chimneys of Tata Steel again, we lived on the canal, was just nostalgic."
