Last year the Cannes Festival opened with Grace, a princess fairy tale that collapsed like a pudding before the official opening. That did no good to the already fragile reputation of festival openers here. This year it had to be different. The 68th edition of the Festival du Cannes opened with La tête haute. A little further on, the press watched Matteo Garrone's bizarro fairy tale Tale of Tales and left the room in a complete daze.
