Next Thursday, February 12, the 6-part lecture series This is Film! has started: a public lecture series on film restoration in EYE. Each lecture is accompanied by film screenings. The lectures can be followed as a series or individually. The working language is English.

In the opening lecture Film Heritage Everywhere: from the magic lantern to the smart phone, Giovanna Fossati (chief curator at EYE and professor of Film Heritage and Digital Film Culture at the UvA) discusses the various forms of film heritage, with a special focus on film devices, from pre-cinema to smartphone.
