The laureates of the VAF Wildcards 2014 have been known. For fiction, Raphaël Crombez and Miwako Van Weyenberg can each receive a Wildcard, for documentary they are Ruben Desiere and Kwinten Gernay. For animation it is Laura Vandewynckel, while Christina Stuhlberger is the winner in the Filmlab category. Since their inception in 2005, the VAF Wildcards have grown into the country's largest film prizes and award six promising filmmakers with a budget of 25,000 to 60,000 euros for a first professional film project.
